Heifer International Kenya is a humanitarian development organization dedicated to ending hunger and poverty and caring for the Earth by empowering small holder farm families around the globe to become self-reliant and attain sustainable livelihood through economically viable agricultural enterprises.
Heifer International Kenya in partnership with ILFS India will be implementing the Kenya India Bridge Innovation Project. This is a three year USD 2,000,000 pilot project funded by USAID India in which Heifer International Kenya is the local implementing partner responsible for the identification, mobilization and capacity building of producer organizations, developing farmer groups and members capacity and skills in animal husbandry, milk production, livestock feeds and business and financial management and providing support for linkages with the private sector for provision of artificial insemination services, financial services and local extension.

Heifer international Kenya is seeking to recruit the following positions which will be based in Nakuru.
Project Coordinator
The Project Coordinator, under the management of the Programme Manager, will assume overall responsibility for the management and coordination of the Kenya India Bridge Innovation Project. This position is the foremost dairy business development position in Heifer Kenya and leads the innovation process for the development and replication of the hub model. The primary responsibility is for the successful implementation of the pilot Kenya India Bridge Innovation Project but the incumbent will also have a leading role in the scaling up and replication of the hub model in Kenya.
Livestock production officer
Under the leadership of Project Coordinator, the Livestock Production Officer is responsible for providing technical input and coordinating all functions related to improvement in performance of dairy enterprises through establishment of functional extension systems at producer organizations, modern breeding and health promoting techniques, and uses these systems to develop dairy production plans in the project. The officer will also be responsible for supporting producer organizations to offer quality and reliable services to their members, through a robust extension systems which will facilitate easy access to inputs and services, all of which will ultimately contribute to increased production and productivity.
